My 3 year old REFUESES to potty train?

I have a 3 year old son, who has refused for the longest time, and until this day for potty train. I put him in "big boy" underwear and only spare nappies at night (when he is about to go to bed). I have tried to give him rewards, corruption, have my husband to show him trying to make a game out of it, but nothing seems to work. I really do not know what to do. I put him in underwear and he just goes potty all over the house. He knows when he must do, because he just stands in front of the bathroom screaming for diapers and he messes himself. idk what else to do I even tried children's books, kids dvd (Elmo), and ETC .. I got him a special potty seat, and still no dice. I really really need some help on this, I'm about to go nuts, not to mention how embarrassed I am, because most children are potty trained by now .. I believe that he will be 4yrs old in February 2009th Many thanks to all the advice. I felt really lost =)

Whatever you do ..... do not force him! Make it fun for him:) If you stress out if he was potty trained, he will be able to sense it. Hug him when he tests and scheduled for him next time. I bought the Elmo Potty Time Video, and then a padded Elmo seat. He used it and was excited to use it when he was ready. But we see Elmo DVD several times before he was ready to use it. He was potty trained about 3 1 / 2 years old. I grew up with girls, the boy's process is completely new to me.
